On June 24, Nivcharot activist Sarah Gadu participated in the Knesset’s Committee for Health Affairs, which held a special meeting on the effects of the war on students. Gadu explained that because of the lack of a sense of belonging, Haredi students refrain from bringing their unique challenges and needs to the table. She recommended appointing a special coordinator and establishing a Haredi student council to provide a response to this problem and prevent drop-out. |
On June 6, Nivcharot activist Gal Rousayov attended a meeting of the Committee for the Status of Women and Gender Equality and spoke about the challenges that Haredi women have when running in the municipal elections. She explained that they cannot run for Haredi parties, which means they are not representing their base. In addition, they do not study civics in school and have limited access to relevant information in the field of politics. |
