While the wheels of justice grind slowly, we are still trying to be patient and continue our legal action against Shas and Agudat Yisrael in the hope that the court will put an end to the continuous and unacceptable discrimination by Haredi parties against Haredi women. It is particularly outrageous that these ultra-Orthodox parties even refuse to accept women into their ranks as party members.
Esty Shushan, CEO of Nivcharot, condemned these actions in an interview on Channel Two. She explained that the problem of equal representation of women in politics is not only the problem of Haredi women, but of all of Israeli society. According to Shushan, it is the responsibility of our legislators to make sure that all citizens of Israel are represented in government.
